1. madness

[I mainly took the middle two photos with the theme of "madness" in mind (izzy was clapping her hands to keep warm and katy was doing some weird dance.. yupp..) but two isn't quite a series and they didn't work on their own individually.. the others were initially more for personal use.. and i only realised this after sorting out my photos but if you look at the left hand side of the first photo (full view at least this one of this set if you would..), you can actually see my other "mad" friend,izzy, in erm.. quite an odd pose.. first 3 photos were taken even before they started drinking.. and i just thought the last more "sane-looking" photo tied the whole thing nicely togther.. plus the somewhat humourous irony of how only then did they start drinking..]

[full view if you would.. but er even then i realised it's still pathetically tiny and it really doesn't do justice to the piece.. a lot of the details are lost.. so i took one of the photos from within it and enlarged it to show you what each photo is kinda like.. :



but it's still not the effect i wanted if the whole damn thing could be seen bigger.. ah but er if for some strange reason you'd like to see the whole thing in it's actual size.. ask me for the file!]

[this was a total and utter bitch to do.. basically the way my school works is that it's really dependent on you how much work you want to do.. and i've been doing quite a lot.. and some friends commented about how i'm mad to do so much work.. so madness.. for this one, what i basically did was i flipped through one (of a few that i've just done) my sketchbooks and took a photo of that motion.. i shot slightly over 100 photos.. flipping and shooting.. edited most of them.. finally painstakingly chose sixteen.. then bitchingly joined them in photoshop.. and yes.. there's an actual sequence to it which i messed up halfway and had a minor seizure trying to put them back in the right order.. so the process in itself was madness..]

[first image, time i slept in the morning.. second - time (am) i woke up and went out soon after.. third - time (pm)i finally got home.. and fourth - time (am) just before i went to sleep.. i stayed up to work on a project that was due today and slept just after a false fire alarm.. woke up early to talk to clement before school.. had an actual fire alarm drill at my hostel -.- .. got dragged to school an hour early by a friend to help her a bit with her project.. had school, rushed a bit and managed to finished my final painting project, did my presentation, went for french class, did a bit of shopping, bought dinner then came home.. sorted out the annoyingly somewhat frustrating photo series that's just above this.. did some other stuff and finally i'm about to go to bed.. think it was all pretty much madness in more ways than one.. ]

and there you have it.. what i did for the theme "madness" .. and yes i do realise that i've explained here a bit more about my work than i usually do.. actually there's quite a bit more to explain about it but i'll leave the rest up to you guys.. and yes, the arrangement of the photos - vertically/horizontally is purposeful.. i actually had other ideas but either couldn't get the photos i wanted or just didn't have time to do them.. ah well.. i'm quite happy with what i did anyway.. with the different styles and what not..

and if you didn't read my earlier post ("artsy fartsy" - http://pseudolondongirl.blogspot.com/2006/10/artsy-fartsy.html )and have no idea why i'm putting myself through such added torture... go read that earlier post =p and in addition to that.. the reason why i'm doing this.. about how i don't purposely go out and shoot a particular photo but just shoot whatever happens around me .. well it's more of a challenge and plus i kinda feel like whatever it is.. good/bad.. it's around you.. just depends if you want to pick it out or notice it.. i know i'm a little incoherent right now.. but er i mean look at all of what i did, what a day i had and plus the time it is now..

next! someone suggest a theme for this week! and think i'll do this every wednesday.. it's my day off so i think it'll hopefully be a little less pressurizing to get it done on time.. and i know this series isn't exactly completely on time.. but i couldn't put the whole thing up till i had the last clock photo so er yea..
and again i'll do the first suggested theme.. post suggestions or comments about the "madness" photos in the "comments" section in this post and not the tag board.. please and thank you!
*edit.. sorry just one word for the theme!
